Canberra photo competition draws 3,600 regional entries

ActewAGL's Capture the Energy competition received 3,600 entries from ACT and south-east NSW residents.

ActewAGL asked people from the ACT and south-east NSW to share photos showing what "the energy around here" means to them. The photos show their regions from the Namadgi ranges to Canberra to the south coast.

The overall winner, Lisa from Googong, took "Echoes of Australian summer". Judges picked it for its striking look and bright colours.

The first runner-up was Cathy from Macgregor with "Hands Up in the Noise", celebrating community connection. The second runner-up Darrel from Oxley submitted "Legoland - Namadgi", celebrating natural wonder.

Judges noted the great creative talent and beautiful everyday moments that show what makes local communities tick.
