One Nation eyes Illawarra seats Labor has held for decades
Labor MPs warned One Nation could take more than a dozen NSW seats. This includes the Illawarra strongholds of Shellharbour and Kiama.
The party is bracing for a One Nation surge in the Illawarra before the NSW election in March 2027. Premier Chris Minns has acknowledged the threat directly.
Labor won't take victory for granted. Member for Wollongong Paul Scully and Shellharbour MP Anna Watson are hearing serious interest in One Nation from local voters.
Many are driven by frustration. Scully challenged One Nation to spell out what they would do for the region.
Minns will campaign hard over the next four months. He wants to keep the party faithful engaged.
