Man robs Newcastle service station at knifepoint

A man threatened a service station worker with a knife and fled with cash on Monday night in Mayfield West.

About 9:45pm on Monday, September 28, police were called to a service station on Maud Street in Mayfield West following reports of a robbery. When officers arrived, they were told a man had entered the business before threatening a staff member with a knife and leaving with cash.

The staff member was not injured in the incident. Police have established a crime scene and are investigating the robbery.
