Wallabies locked in for MCG matches in 2027 and 2029 against All Blacks
Rugby Australia secured MCG dates for 2027 and 2029 Bledisloe Cup Tests, raising hopes for a permanent three-game series.
Rugby Australia struck a deal with the Victorian government to host the Wallabies and All Blacks at the MCG in both 2027 and 2029. The 2027 Test comes in July, just before the Rugby World Cup where the teams also meet in the group stage.
Combined with a Bledisloe Cup Test at Brisbane's Lang Park in April next year, this sets up a three-match series for the first time since 2021. Whether a three-game format becomes permanent remains unclear, but the 2029 announcement fuels optimism among rugby fans.
The Wallabies last faced the All Blacks at the MCG in 2023, where a crowd of 83,944 filled the historic ground. They haven't held the Bledisloe Cup since 2002.
