Weapons maker joins One Nation to fight post-Bondi gun bans
Jeff Bacon, whose rifles were all banned after the Bondi attack, is running for One Nation in the March NSW election.
Bacon is managing director of Oceania Precision, a Tamworth-based weapons maker. One Nation announced him as second on its upper house ticket earlier this month.
Oceania Precision says every rifle it produces is now banned in New South Wales after law changes in December 2025. The December 2025 laws followed the Bondi beach shooting that killed 15 people.
Bacon has said his business would be "broke in six months" if the laws stay. One Nation is polling 25 per cent primary support in NSW.
The party could win at least five upper house seats in March. Bacon previously ran for the Shooters, Fishers and Farmers party in 2019.
He joined the Nationals in 2023 before moving to One Nation.
