Kane and Abel author Jeffrey Archer dies; more than 300 million books sold
British author Jeffrey Archer has died at 86, with his final novel set to release later this month.
Jeffrey Archer has died suddenly and peacefully at home, aged 86, his publisher HarperCollins confirmed on Monday. Over five decades, Archer sold more than 300 million books worldwide.
Jeffrey Archer's 1979 novel Kane and Abel was a major success, as was his seven-book Clifton Chronicles series. Archer's final novel, Adam and Eve, was scheduled for release later this month, and he had planned to speak at the Cheltenham Festival later in the week.
HarperCollins called him a 'master storyteller' whose fans 'meant everything to him'.
