General Motors is launching OnStar AI, a new assistant trained for GM vehicles. The assistant will roll out to GM models starting in 2027.
The rollout begins with the Cadillac Lyriq in the US. GM offers Google Gemini too.
But OnStar AI is made to better understand and control GM vehicles. In demonstrations, it played songs from partial lyrics.
It turned on cabin lights without being told the correct name. It also identified a speed-limit beep correctly.
The assistant can also engage child locks on doors and windows from simple requests. GM is bringing together its Chevrolet, GMC, Buick, and Cadillac apps into one OnStar app in summer 2027.
