Omoda X crossover debuts thermal imaging and off-road styling
Omoda revealed a new mid-size crossover with night vision and rugged design, stepping up the brand's Australian push.
Chery's Omoda division unveiled the Omoda X at a summit in China on October 20. The crossover's design mixes sports-car styling tension with off-road ruggedness.
The crossover features an infrared thermal imaging system and night vision. Detection range reaches up to 90 metres.
This is a first for Omoda Jaecoo. The Omoda X is about the same size as a Toyota RAV4.
It sits 200mm off the ground. It can ford over 700mm deep water.
Buyers get two-wheel or all-wheel drive. They also get plug-in hybrid (PHEV) or full-electric (EV) powertrains.
Inside, a 13.2-inch touchscreen and 39 storage spaces offer practicality. Towing capacity reaches 1800kg.
Australian availability has not yet been confirmed. However, Omoda is getting ready to launch the Omoda 4 and Omoda 7.
This will happen here in the first half of 2027.
