Two accused of stabbing 16-year-old at Canberra school after Snapchat dispute
Two men, aged 18 and 19, face charges over a stabbing at a Canberra school following online disputes.
Two men are accused of stabbing a 16-year-old student at Lake Tuggeranong College in Canberra on 2 November. Court documents reveal the pair had online disputes with the boy on Snapchat and told him they were coming to the school.
The victim asked a friend to be present because he feared for his safety. The men arrived in a red Mercedes at about 1:29 pm.
A short verbal exchange turned into a physical fight, in which one is accused of punching the teenager while the other allegedly drew a flick-knife and slashed him twice, once on the left palm and once on the right forearm in a 15-centimetre cut.
One of the suspect's own arms was cut during the struggle. Both men were arrested and charged with assault and related offences.
One was denied bail.
