Launceston man in court over Porsche registration plates
Aaron Neil Wesley was charged with multiple thefts after police found custom registration plates from a $200,000 Porsche at his Summerhill home.
Aaron Neil Wesley, 36, appeared in Launceston Magistrates Court on October 30 facing charges of burglary, stealing and trespass. Police found custom plates reading "HRO213" from a $200,000 Porsche at his home in March 2026.
Wesley told police a man known as "Nathan from Devonport" gave him the plates. Wesley's lawyer said he kept them because they matched the colours of the Hawthorn AFL team.
Magistrate Even Hughes responded: "It doesn't make it more valuable if it's stolen from a Porsche." Wesley's offending spree began in October 2025 and included stealing musical instruments, scanner devices and power tools.
He breached bail multiple times in 2026.
