Chris Fagan quits Brisbane Lions after winning three straight premierships
Chris Fagan is retiring as Brisbane Lions coach after leading three consecutive premierships.
Fagan announced his retirement on Thursday after the Lions won the grand final over Fremantle. Fagan described the final moments of his coaching career as the best of his life.
Fagan made the decision at least six weeks ago but told only his closest friends. Fagan is tired after a decade at the Lions.
During this time he led the club to three premierships in a row. Fagan wants to move back to Victoria and spend more time with his family.
The 65-year-old said he won't coach another AFL club. But he hopes to stay involved in the game in another role.
Internal candidates Cameron Bruce and Danny Daly are being considered to replace him.
