Allansford forward Robbie Hare named Warrnambool district league senior coach
Robbie Hare, 34, has been named senior coach of Allansford after eight years coaching roles, including leading the under-16 premiership this year.
Robbie Hare will lead Allansford into the 2027 season as senior coach, replacing Tim Nowell after the club reached back-to-back Warrnambool and District league grand finals. Hare, a prolific forward, has been with the Cats for eight seasons in coaching roles: five years as senior assistant and two years leading the under-18 side.
In 2026, he coached the under-16 team to a premiership. Robbie Hare has kicked between 102 and 126 goals in each of the past three seasons, for a combined 340, making him one of the league's most prolific forwards.
Hare said the club had become family and he was excited to give back. He will continue playing while coaching, relying on his support team for off-field duties.
Allansford will lose three key defenders: Josh Kirkwood and Paddy Drake have moved away, and Bradley Bull may retire.

Why it mattersHare's promotion gives Allansford continuity in leadership as the club chases a premiership after falling short twice in as many years.
AustraliaFor Victorian country football fans, this completes Allansford's coaching succession and sets up the 2027 season as a genuine chance to break a drought that has lasted longer than the club's recent success.
