SA milk recall after E. coli found in Tweedvale Dairies batches
Tweedvale Dairies reduced-fat milk with a best-before date of 21 October 2026 has been recalled across South Australian stores after E. coli contamination was found.
South Australian health authorities have recalled batches of Tweedvale Dairies reduced-fat milk found contaminated with E. coli bacteria. Both the 1-litre and 2-litre bottles with a best-before date of 21 October 2026 are affected and stocked at independent retailers, including IGA stores.
Food Standards Australia has told customers not to consume the milk and to request refunds. E. coli infection can cause severe diarrhoea, stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting, and fever, with symptoms typically appearing 1 to 10 days after exposure.
Most people recover within a week, but in rare cases the infection can lead to pneumonia or meningitis. Anyone concerned about their health should see a doctor.
