Kuminga downplays Warriors reunion as Timberwolves face Golden State
Jonathan Kuminga faced the Warriors for the first time since joining the Hawks, then later the Timberwolves, playing down the reunion.
Kuminga faced his former team for the first time since being traded to the Hawks in February for Kristaps Porzingis, before signing a two-year, $13 million deal with the Timberwolves over the offseason.
In a short media session, he said he hadn't even watched Warriors footage and dismissed the emotional weight of returning. "It's just another day.
Just another game against any other team," he said. In his first four games for Minnesota, Kuminga has averaged 11.5 points and 5.8 rebounds, with a 46.7% three-point shooting rate.
Warriors coach Steve Kerr said he wished Kuminga well in his new role. The reunion was somewhat overshadowed by Minnesota star Anthony Edwards requiring knee surgery.

Why it mattersKuminga's departure marked the end of an era for the Warriors, and his indifference signals he has moved on rather than seeking redemption.
