Muggsy Bogues gets Charlotte Hornets jersey retired
The NBA's shortest ever player, at 5-foot-3, will be recognised with a jersey retirement in February.
Muggsy Bogues will become the third Hornets player to have his number retired when the team honours him in February. Bogues stood just 160 centimetres tall, 40 centimetres shorter than the average NBA player of his era.
Despite the size gap, he played in the NBA for parts of 14 seasons, averaging 7.7 points and 7.6 assists per game. Bogues spent most of his career with Charlotte and helped the team reach 50-win seasons in three consecutive years.
Bogues called the moment "surreal", saying it feels like he is finally looking down at the world rather than up.
