Aitken grazing property passed in at $4.5 million auction
A 5,206-hectare NSW grazing property did not sell at $4.5 million. Negotiations are continuing.
Aitken is a grazing lease near Cumborah, about 75km north-west of Walgett. Aitken did not meet its reserve at an Elders auction on Thursday.
All three registered bidders stayed active throughout the sale. The property currently runs about 3,750 Dohne ewes.
They graze Mitchell grass and burr pastures. More than 100km of new fencing has been built.
A modern water system serves livestock troughs. Infrastructure includes 700-head cattle yards and a five-stand shearing shed.
Grain storage holds about 250 tonnes. There is also a machinery shed and staff rooms.
A three-bedroom cottage and shearers' quarters are air-conditioned. Negotiations continue toward a private sale.
