Corrimal apartment block could swell to 900 homes from original 550
The Works development in Corrimal could grow from 550 to nearly 900 apartments. New transport and affordable housing rules make this possible.
The Works apartment complex in Corrimal has finished its first 180 units across five buildings. Stage 2a is now under NSW planning review.
Stage 2a will increase three buildings from four to six storeys. New affordable housing and transport-focused development incentives enable this growth.
Developer Legacy said final apartment numbers will be "considerably more" than the original master plan. Documents suggest around 900 units across all stages.
The first residents are set to move in mid-2027. Local Minister Ryan Park said the development helps young people and families stay in the northern Illawarra as housing costs elsewhere have soared.
