Coffee roaster moves to bigger venue after stadium lease ends
Darks Coffee Roasters leaves its 10-year home at McDonald Jones Stadium for a larger Lambton café with kitchen and proper storage.
Trent Alder and Adam Hills ran their popular coffee kiosk from a shipping container outside McDonald Jones Stadium for a decade. When told they had eight weeks to leave, it felt like a blow.
The new Griffiths Road venue in Lambton turned out to be a genuine upgrade. The café is bigger, with a cool room, storage, kitchen and seating.
At the stadium, there was no room for a juicer. Now they can offer cooked food, fresh juices, milkshakes and matcha drinks.
Alder plans signature dishes like bacon-and-egg rolls with house-made coffee barbecue sauce. Most of their loyal customers made the move too.
