Man jailed for buying vapes to exchange for child abuse material
Dean Jason Milley was jailed for five-and-a-half years after buying vapes online to trade to a 12-year-old boy for child abuse material.
Dean Jason Milley, 53, is from Longwarry in Victoria. He has been jailed for contacting teenage boys online and asking for explicit images.
Milley bought vapes from Alibaba and sent them to a 12-year-old boy in Western Australia. The boy sent him nude images and videos in exchange.
The boy told Milley he was 14. Judge Diana Manova heard that Milley contacted boys on the website Daddy Hunt.
His conversations with them were highly sexual and deeply wrong. Milley has a criminal history going back to 1994.
He has convictions in 2006 and 2018 for similar crimes. The judge noted his past crimes and failure to follow sex offender reporting rules.
This showed poor chances of reform. He was sentenced to five-and-a-half years on Commonwealth charges.
An additional 15 months was added for state charges. He has already served this time and will be eligible for parole in three years.
