Newcastle fans are painting homes red and blue as the Knights play their first grand final in 25 years.
Newcastle is gripped by grand final fever. The Knights play their first grand final in 25 years this weekend against the Sydney Roosters.
On Monday, New Lambton couple Samuel and Teigan Jobbins painted their home's front in red and blue stripes. Professional painter Lachlan Gray and his brother also painted their Waratah home in club colours.
Both said the excitement reminds them of the legendary 1997 and 2001 grand finals when houses across the city were painted the same way. The Knights club shop closed Monday due to a high volume of orders.
Rebel and Kmart were nearly sold out of Knights merchandise by afternoon.
