Changan takes over Deepal car sales from Inchcape in Australia
Changan is taking distribution of its Deepal electric car brand away from Inchcape from late October, as the importer exits its portfolio.
Changan, a Chinese car maker, is taking direct control of Deepal sales in Australia. The importer Inchcape is handing over the brand.
The transition happens between late October 2026 and March 2027. Deepal has struggled under Inchcape, selling just 924 cars by September 2026 since its late-2024 launch.
The move comes as Changan plans to bring two new brands to Australia in 2027: Nevo and the premium Avatr. Inchcape has cut back its portfolio, dropping Citroën and Peugeot over the past two years.
Changan says it will honour all existing customer orders and keep service, parts and warranty support during the changeover.
