Collingwood is sending three players with ACL injuries to Dublin. They will work with Dr Enda King for intensive rehab.
Collingwood is sending three players with ACL injuries to Ireland next week. They will work with Dr Enda King, an elite physiotherapist.
He is the head of elite performance and development at Aspetar in Doha, Qatar. He is one of the world's most sought-after experts in knee recovery.
Jamie Elliott, Oscar Steene and Reef McInnes will each spend five days with King. He has helped many AFL players return from serious knee injuries.
Elliott, 34, tore his ACL in the final minute of a round 11 game against West Coast. Steene damaged his knee a week later after eight straight games from his debut.
McInnes tore his other ACL on Anzac Day in just his fourth game back after an earlier reconstruction. The trip gives the players new ideas on their recovery.
It also helps Collingwood's medical staff learn new recovery methods.

Why it mattersACL injuries often end careers or delay return for a full season or longer. Access to world-class rehab can make a real difference. It can mean the difference between playing again and lasting damage.
AustraliaThe trip shows how AFL clubs now access global expertise to protect elite athletes, though the approach remains out of reach for most Australian sports injuries outside professional leagues.
