Pauline Hanson backs down, asks creator to change cartoon about Lambie

Hanson asked the video creator to change the controversial cartoon. She had first told Lambie to lighten up.

One Nation leader Pauline Hanson said she had not seen the cartoon before it was posted online. The video is part of her 'Please Explain' series.

The cartoon mocked Jacqui Lambie's prolapsed vagina with a crude sound effect. When Lambie objected, Hanson first told her to have a laugh and lighten up.

On Tuesday, Hanson changed her mind. She said the cartoon was not done nicely.

She asked the creator to change it. Hanson said she takes responsibility for the content bearing her name.

The video needs to be reined in, she said. Lambie is an army veteran.

She had spoken emotionally about her health condition in parliament. Going public did not make it fair game, she said.
