Albury cold case suspect ordered to provide DNA
An Albury court ordered a man to provide DNA in connection with four sexual assaults from 2005 and 2006.
Police have identified a prime suspect in a series of sexual and indecent assaults that occurred in Albury between May 2005 and August 2006. A man appeared in court and opposed a DNA request, but Judge Sally McLaughlin approved it.
The man was ordered to provide a buccal swab by Friday, November 6. Four victims were assaulted during that period, one aged 16.
Investigators started with 434 possible suspects and used DNA and demographic data to narrow the list. DNA from the first victim, recovered at an Albury hospital, matched DNA from a later assault.
