Australia beats NZ in T20 after Perry's 52 steadies the chase

Australia beat New Zealand in a two-wicket T20, with Ellyse Perry's 52 and Kim Garth's boundary securing the win.

Australia's women edged New Zealand in a tense Rose Bowl T20 match after Perry struck 52 to anchor the chase. New Zealand batted first and set 2-162, with Georgia Plimmer hitting 85 and Maddy Green making 56.

Australia lost three early wickets but looked stable until a collapse took them from 3-102 to 7-145. Perry fell for 52 in the middle order, prompting the loss of four wickets in quick succession.

Kim Garth hit the winning boundary in the second-last over to seal a two-wicket win. Perry said both sides bowled well and Australia would work on finishing more cleanly.
