Aidan O'Connor reaches first century for Greater Northern Raiders

The 20-year-old scored 117 runs in the Greater Northern Raiders' two-wicket chase.

O'Connor came in at number four and built a 157-run partnership with Brayden DeVries as the Greater Northern Raiders chased down South Hobart-Sandy Bay's 6-296 on Saturday. The team won with nine balls to spare.

At 20, O'Connor said the century felt overdue after being tipped as a prospect for years. Brayden DeVries kept him level-headed during the chase.

O'Connor is also contracted with Sydney Thunder in the Big Bash. "I'm at the age now where I need to put up some decent numbers to get another chance at higher honours," he said.
