Bailey Banfield delisted by Fremantle after 119-game career
Bailey Banfield, 28, played 119 games for Fremantle but appeared just once in 2026 and will not be offered a contract.
Fremantle has delisted Bailey Banfield along with three others: Sam Sturt, Ollie Murphy and Ryda Luke. Banfield, 28, played 119 games for the Dockers over nearly a decade but appeared just once this season.
Banfield's manager said two Victorian clubs have already shown interest in signing him. Sturt, who managed 31 games before recurring injuries derailed his career, also missed out on a new deal.
Murphy and Luke were untried at AFL level. Fremantle's football executive Joe Brierty praised Banfield for his contribution over just under 10 years, noting his recent Jim Stynes Community Leadership Award.
