Michael Douglas reveals 40-year secret romance with Kathleen Turner
Michael Douglas reveals a four-decade secret romance with Kathleen Turner while filming Romancing the Stone.
In an excerpt from his memoir One Helluva Ride, Michael Douglas revealed that he and Kathleen Turner had a secret romance while making the 1984 film Romancing the Stone. Michael Douglas was married at the time to his then-wife, Diandra Douglas, and they were separated.
Kathleen Turner and Douglas both wrote: "That was a lie" about their previous denials. Douglas and Turner publicly insisted their chemistry was real but nothing happened, through four films together including War of the Roses.
Douglas kept the relationship private to protect his family. Turner responded Friday, writing "Good heavens what a fuss about something 40 years ago!"
and said she looks forward to the book. Douglas noted that even director Bob Zemeckis and co-star Danny DeVito were unaware of the romance.
