Goulburn escapee recaptured 30 hours after breaking out of jail
Beau Wiles escaped Goulburn jail in September 2015 but was caught just over 30 hours later in a police car stop.
Beau Wiles was serving an 18-month sentence for shoplifting and driving while disqualified when he climbed the Goulburn jail fence on 30 September 2015. Just two days before, he'd posted self-portraits on Facebook from a jail cell, still wearing red undies, a major prison security breach.
Rebecca Watts was waiting outside in a black Commodore. Wiles jumped in and yelled 'go, go, drive'.
The pair hid at a Koonawarra home, then headed to his stepfather's place in North Wollongong. A random police stop on Five Islands Road ended the escape just over 30 hours later.
Watts was jailed for two years, Wiles for another two years on top of his original sentence.
