Gold Coast re-drafts Ugle-Hagan after troubled year

Gold Coast delisted Jamarra Ugle-Hagan and Elliott Himmelberg on Friday, planning to pick both back in next month's draft.

The Gold Coast Suns delisted young forward Jamarra Ugle-Hagan and fellow key forward Elliott Himmelberg on Friday, and both players will be re-drafted at the November 19-20 AFL draft. The tactical move helped Gold Coast meet the list deadline after signing three players during the trade period, including Collingwood legend Scott Pendlebury.

Ugle-Hagan, 24, played only three senior games in his first season with the Suns. Ugle-Hagan struggled with knee and ankle injuries but showed talent across 11 VFL games this year.

He did not play at any level in 2025 due to off-field behavioural issues and mental health problems. Coach Damien Hardwick remains his chief supporter at the club.
