Collingwood raises Copeland Trophy ceiling to 30 votes per round
Collingwood raised the voting ceiling from 20 to 30 votes per round, allowing coaches to award more votes.
Collingwood has adjusted how it votes on its best and fairest award to reward dominant individual performances. Under the old system, coaches could give a player 0-4 votes per game, capping them at 20 votes per round.
Now each coach can award 0-6 votes, raising the maximum to 30 per round. The change rewards what coach Craig McRae calls "extreme games".
Nick Daicos, who just won his first Brownlow Medal with a record 47 votes, is tipped to win the Copeland Trophy on Friday night. The club reviewed the system after Darcy Cameron beat Daicos to win last year's best and fairest, despite Daicos finishing second in 2024.
