Cirque du Soleil's KOOZA returns to carnival-style circus at Moore Park
KOOZA opens at Moore Park from October 18 to January 3, blending world-class acrobatics with carnival clowning.
Cirque du Soleil's KOOZA opens October 18 at Moore Park Entertainment Quarter and runs until January 3. Director David Shiner created KOOZA in 2007 as a return to carnival-style circus, moving away from Cirque's huge theatrical shows.
The moment you enter the spiral-patterned big top, clowns are everywhere. They mix North American comedy and vaudeville with mime and slapstick.
The show follows the Innocent, a child-like character exploring the world. Along the way, the Innocent encounters contortionists, aerial silks, a romantic unicycle duet, and death-defying highwires and teeterboards.
A live band plays original music, ranging from carnival styles to Bollywood, burlesque, and cabaret. The production shows Cirque's hallmark: tight choreography, flawless performance, and constant gasps and cheers from the crowd.
