Koletti cleared of assault but loses legal costs case
Anthony Koletti was acquitted of assaulting a dog trainer. The court refused to pay his legal fees.
Anthony Koletti, 44, was found not guilty of assaulting dog trainer Julie Brandon, 73, at Vaucluse in July 2025. Brandon claimed he shoulder-charged her from behind as she walked her dog.
Koletti's lawyer found she told different stories. Brandon first told police he knocked her into her left hip.
Later, she told media it was her right shoulder. Koletti said he was in the area but did not see anyone get hit.
Despite the acquittal, Judge Scott Nash dismissed Koletti's bid to recover his legal costs. Koletti's late wife was Melissa Caddick.
Caddick was a self-styled financial adviser. She vanished in 2020 and is presumed dead.
She took about $23 million from family and friends. Koletti has never been accused of wrongdoing about her disappearance.
