Raiders grant Hudson Young permission to visit PNG Chiefs
Hudson Young has permission from Canberra to visit PNG and tour the Chiefs' facilities as they ramp up their bid.
The Raiders have granted Hudson Young early permission to visit PNG and tour the Chiefs' facilities as the Chiefs ramp up their bid for the star back rower. Canberra still believe they are in the box seat after offering Young a four-year deal worth $4.4 million.
PNG were once favoured to land Young, but the NRL ruled their initial $900,000-a-year offer was too low. Young has been valued by the salary cap auditor at $1 million a season minimum.
Young would earn more take-home cash at $900,000 per year with PNG because of the tax-free contracts the Chiefs can offer. The free agency window opens November 1.
