Twin Cities votes Democrat in landslide after ICE deaths
Minneapolis and St Paul voted Democrat by landslide months after ICE agents killed two locals.
Renee Good and Alex Pretti were shot dead by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in January during Operation Metro Surge, Trump's six-week crackdown on immigrants across the Twin Cities. Renee Good and Alex Pretti's deaths prompted thousands to protest.
Almost ten months later, voters came to the polls in freezing rain to honour them. Hundreds placed stickers at the memorials and voted.
The Twin Cities recorded the highest voter turnout in the country during the midterm election. Minneapolis and St Paul swung decisively for Flanagan, a Democrat, who won the state's Senate seat.
The result helped Democrats regain control of both the House and Senate nationally.
