Leapmotor B03 cleared for Australian market
The Leapmotor B03 has won government approval to sell in Australia with two motor options and pricing expected below rivals.
The B03 hatchback will arrive in Australia with two engine choices: a base 130kW unit and a more powerful 145kW variant. The 130kW and 145kW motors send power to the front wheels and make 200 newton-metres of torque, matching European specs.
The new model will take aim at budget-conscious buyers, sitting alongside the BYD Atto 1 Essential (from $23,990) and Geely EX2 Complete ($26,490). Industry sources expect the B03 hatch to start around $30,000, though Leapmotor has not yet confirmed local pricing or battery options.
European versions of the related B03X SUV offer 39.8kWh or 53kWh batteries, the larger giving a 382 kilometre range under WLTP testing.
