Broken Hill Gold drills for massive hidden copper-gold system in South Australia
Broken Hill Gold is drilling 3,000m to test a large copper-gold system beneath its Icebreaker discovery.
Broken Hill Gold has started a drilling program at its White Dam project in South Australia. The drilling work will test a major target beneath recent high-grade copper-gold discoveries.
Surveys have mapped an anomaly and magnetic features that could show a massive system at depth and link the Icebreaker discovery with other known deposits in the region. The company found Icebreaker by accident when drilling through a shallow gold resource.
It then hit a much richer gold-copper sulphide zone underneath. Drilling begins this weekend and will reach up to 400 metres deep, testing the system far deeper than past work.
A rival project 40 kilometres north recently attracted a major deal involving acquisition rights worth up to A$222.6 million. If drilling confirms what surveys suggest, White Dam could transform into a district-scale copper-gold discovery.

Why it mattersConfirming a large copper-gold system could turn a junior miner into a major gold and copper producer. This would create major value for the company's shareholders.
AustraliaA major discovery would add to Australia's copper and gold reserves, supporting export revenue and potentially attracting global mining investment to South Australia.
