Maple Johns, a Newcastle musician, reached more than 55 million Instagram views with her viral hit Lego. Maple's Pet Dinosaur is launching its debut EP Child's Play at Tower Cinemas.

The EP draws from 1980s and 1990s horror films like Chucky. The EP tells the story of a Maple doll that escapes her box, representing how she feels when people dismiss teenage girls' serious music.

Maple's follow-up singles are Chorus, Child's Play and Big Mouth. The all-ages launch features Triple J Unearthed High winners Trophy Wyfe and local acts.

Maple started homeschooling to focus on building her music career and has performed at South By South West and Groovin The Moo.
