Meghan said she was informed in 2018 of allegations against Thomas Markle and acted to protect her children.
The Duchess of Sussex said she was told in 2018 about disturbing allegations against her estranged father Thomas Markle. A letter containing the allegations was sent to the Metropolitan Police that year and shared with her.
Meghan said she was given assurance the claims were being investigated. The statement came after reports that images of child sexual abuse allegedly belonging to Markle were found at his former home in the Philippines.
Meghan called the allegations distressing and said she kept her distance from her father to protect her children from him. She kept him from contacting them.
