Woman arrested after 6 months of round-the-clock loud music in Canberra
A 40-year-old woman was arrested in Canberra after police attended her Holt address 77 times over six months of noise complaints.
Police arrested a woman on October 22 in Holt after neighbours endured constant loud music since April. Officers seized 26 speakers from the property.
Residents reported music playing for 10 hours at a time, starting at 3am and resuming at 6.30am, sometimes repeating the same song continuously. One neighbour said the music contained animal mating sounds and offensive language edited in with artificial intelligence.
The woman, who live-streams police visits on YouTube, says the reverberations from music help manage a health condition. Neighbours reported the noise has affected their work, children's sleep, and ability to enjoy their homes.
She was granted bail on October 23 with noise limits: 45 decibels from 7am to 10pm, and 35 decibels from 10pm to 7am.
