Judge clears path for aerial shooting of feral horses in Yuraygir National Park
Judge ruled it was up to the NSW government to decide how feral horses are removed from national parks.
Carmen Jackson challenged the NSW government's planned aerial cull of wild horses at Yuraygir National Park near Grafton. Justice Rachel Pepper found Jackson had not proved the culling breached the National Parks and Wildlife Act.
The park's management plan required removal of feral horses, but the judge said how they were removed was the government's operational decision. Jackson has other pending court cases to stop aerial culling in Kosciuszko National Park.
