Vanuatu import Womajo Wotu made an impressive debut for Eskdale. Wotu took two wickets in the opening over.

The performance helped his team defeat premiers Kiewa in Cricket Albury-Wodonga District cricket on Saturday. Wotu trapped Josh Warren leg before wicket with his first ball.

Eskdale captain Tom Gibbs said Wotu is a good right-arm swing bowler who can move the ball well. In the same match, Tasmanian debutant Kristan Higgs hit 83 runs with two sixes and 12 fours.

He shared an opening stand of 53 with vice-captain Jye Hodgkin. Eskdale posted 7-182 from 32 overs in rain-affected conditions.
