Thieves steal $23k in Christmas gifts from Adelaide charity weeks after fire
Thieves took $23,000 in donations from a temporary warehouse. The stolen items included 78 Nike shoes and Christmas gifts.
Puddle Jumpers is an Adelaide charity. It helps vulnerable children and families.
The charity was already struggling after a fire destroyed its headquarters last month. Security cameras caught a man and woman entering the temporary warehouse in Brompton.
This happened over three separate nights. The thieves stole more than $23,000 worth of goods.
The items included Christmas presents, clothing, toys, and 78 pairs of Nike shoes. These shoes were meant for disadvantaged families.
The supplies were being stored there while the charity rebuilds. Chief executive Melanie Tate said staff were exhausted.
"It's absolutely gut-wrenching," she told 7NEWS.
