Canberra vinyl fair raises funds for food pantry
Local vinyl vendors donate all proceeds from a record fair on November 8 to Community Services #1 food pantry in Canberra.
A vinyl record fair in Griffith on Sunday, 8 November will bring together music collectors and vendors across the ACT to raise money for a food pantry. Entry is free.
Every vendor is giving money to Community Services #1, which helps people with low income. The pantry had roughly 3,200 visits last year and helped about 240 community members.
A barbecue and other activities throughout the day will help raise funds. Vendors include Pashing Vinyl (owner Rob Pash, who is just clearing out his record collection) and established shops like Kool N' Krazy Records and Black Velvet Records.
Records, CDs, DVDs and collectibles will be on sale from 10 am to 3 pm at the Griffith Neighbourhood Hall.
