Powderfinger sells out reunion tour in six days

All 300,000 tickets for Powderfinger's 26-show reunion tour sold out in six days; the Brisbane band is now adding nine more dates.

Powderfinger's comeback has become Australia's hottest ticket since the band broke up in 2010. Demand was so strong that the five members decided to add shows in Hobart and Canberra.

Guitarist Darren Middleton called the response genuinely overwhelming. The band spent 16 years apart before reuniting, with members raising families and pursuing solo projects.

They decided to get back together partly so their own children could see them perform. The reunion tour will feature an all-Australian line-up of support acts, with emerging talent picked through triple j Unearthed.
