La Grande Fete returns with 170 volunteers after 2025 cancellation
Telopea Park School's La Grande Fete returns Saturday with 170 volunteers after COVID derailed last year's event.
Telopea Park School's La Grande Fete, Canberra's biggest public school fair, was cancelled last year. Volunteer numbers had collapsed after COVID.
This Saturday, October 31, it is back with more than 170 volunteers working at least 400 hours combined. More than 30 local businesses lent support, and parents who had drifted away returned.
The day features more than 40 stalls, an antique French car show, Halloween costume parade, live music, and carnival rides. Funds raised will support library upgrades, playground sun-safe sails, or bathroom renovations, depending on the fete's success.
