Canadian rock singer Sass Jordan dies at 65
Sass Jordan, the Montreal-raised rock singer who won a Juno Award in 1989, has died.
Sass Jordan, whose career in rock music spanned nearly four decades, died on Friday surrounded by loved ones. The singer was born in Birmingham but raised in Montreal.
Sass Jordan's second album Racine, released in 1992, featured hits including Make You a Believer. Jordan was nominated several times for best female vocalist at the Junos and appeared as a judge on all six seasons of Canadian Idol.
She continued recording into her later years, releasing Rebel Moon Blues in 2020 and Bitches Blues in 2022 with her husband Derek Sharp. Colleagues described her as bold, brave, and a pioneering woman in a male-dominated genre.
