Threatening bullet found on MP's car during industrial dispute
A bullet was left on Paul Edbrooke's car. It was inscribed with "RAT" and his old firefighter number.
Emergency Services Minister Paul Edbrooke found a bullet on his car on Saturday. The bullet was inscribed with "RAT" and his old firefighter number.
Victoria Police are investigating it as a threat. Edbrooke said a small minority in the firefighters union thought threats were acceptable.
He called it "a new low in a pattern of threatening behaviour" against politicians. The United Firefighters Union condemned the threat.
They said it does not represent the union. This comes amid an ongoing dispute between the union and Fire Rescue Victoria over bargaining.
