Police identify three online usernames linked to Melbourne firebombings

Police found three online usernames directing firebombings and extortions across Melbourne.

Victorian detectives found three online usernames behind coordinated firebombings and extortions across Melbourne. Armed Crime Squad investigators believe people using the handles Onepercent, Motion and Work ordered attacks on bars, clubs and restaurants.

The attacks happened during April's bar wars. The attacks targeted CBD and inner-city venues almost daily.

In July, police charged 20-year-old Jesse Hadchiti. He was a key middleman who helped coordinate some attacks on bars and restaurants.

Hadchiti allegedly worked for the Hamad syndicate. The three usernames were likely tied to burner accounts.

They may no longer be active. Detective Acting Inspector Simon Pengelly said using online platforms to direct crime puts the Victorian community at risk.

Police are asking anyone with information about these usernames to come forward.
