Lake Wendouree signs 13 players as new coaches begin Ballarat rebuild
New joint coaches Lohmann and Hynes have signed 13 players in early off-season blitz.
Lake Wendouree has announced 13 new signings as it starts a long-term rebuild under joint coaches Jake Lohmann and Mick Hynes. The Lakers brought in several Central Highlands talents including Matt Ryan, plus Leo Taylor and Jack Harwood from Clunes, and Matt Perry as a key forward from the Central Murray league.
Lohmann said recruits came through word-of-mouth recommendations and excitement about joining something new. The strategy blends young talent with experience, with Perry brought in as a mentor.
Lohmann made clear the goal is building the puzzle for the next few years, not chasing an immediate premiership. The club wants to develop its junior program and become known as a development hub in the league.
